Safarwadi
cave located in Pamijahan. Districk Bantarkalong, Tasikmalaya regency, West
Java Province. Location of the cave which be one with the shrine tomb of Sheikh
Haji Abdul Muhyi, a propagator of Islam in the West Java region, located about
60 kilometers from the Tasikmalaya city.
According
to AA Khaerussalam on the struggle of Syekh Abdul Muhyi history book, Safarwadi
is the name of the cave area before it changed become Pamijahan. Safarwadi name
come from the Arabic, namely “safar” (street) and “wadi” (valley/ravine). So
safarwadi is way above the ravine, according to its location between two hills
on the edge of river.
To
reach the site Safarwadi Cave, the visitors must down aisles which width not
less than two meters. And they must walking approximately one kilometer. The
road is not smooth as expected. The cement path that sometimes is not flat. Dozens
of the stairs also must be passed. But the journey not make us boring because
each side of the road there is a small kiosk of food vendors are also
souvenirs.
Safarwadi
cave is one of the main objective of pilgrims who visit Pamijahan. The length
of the cave corridor about 284 meters and 24,5 meters wide. The pilgrims can
down the cave within two hours. Long time ago, this cave often used by Sheikh
Abdul Muhyi and the other propagator of Islam to retreat or make a wish to the
God. Therefore, in the cave appear traces of a relic of Sheikh Abdul Muhyi,
like a monastery, mosque, pilgrims stone cap, and the place that once believed
as religius pupil school.
Before
entering the cave, there is usually the cave officer who accompany visitors,
he’ll take the visitors after he finished his ritual washing and then adzan. For
it, we just must to pay $ 20.000 for the guides and $ 5.000 to rent a petromaks. To
through the cave, it need a carefulness because the road is too slippery and
the road of the cave always full of the water. During down the cave, we’re
encouraged to read a sholawat always.
One
of the part of the cave which often visited is a stretch of rock measuring
approximately 12 × 8 meters which referred to as the Baitulloh field. The place was commonly used to did a worship
by Abdul Muhyi with his religious pupil.
Behind
that rock field there is Cikahhuripan water source which coming out from the
sidelines of a rock wall. The water source continues to flow throughout the
years. By the local community, the water was popularized as a Pamijahan
”Zam-zam” water. It believed have a various properties. Ahead of Ramadhan, the
pilgrims in Pamijahan not forget to bring a bottle of waters to hold that
“Zam-zam” waters. With drinking this water, it believed can keep our body
healthy during the running fast.
There
is also part of the cave that believed as penetration hole to Mecca, Jakarta,
Surabaya, and Cirebon that usually used by the trustees as a meeting place.
But, the most amazing part of this cave is a hole as penetration to Mecca. People
who have a strong religious science could feel was in Mecca with prayer recited
only in the hole.
Then,
there are the way to the pulpit of women approximately 20 meters from the woman
mosques into the religious boarding school and the kitchen. Visitors can
through the “kupyah mountain”. Ten pieces of half circle puddles can seen when
the body was duck.
The hollow just above the body. It’s said that when we pray while
standing upright under the kopyah puddles that fits with our head then our
prays will be answered.
After we scour the cave passages,
we’ll see a hole that highlighted by the sun. It’s the out hole from the cave. A
freshness will be felt when we out from the cave.
